Answer phone calls with your agent

Your Cysora agent can answer phone calls on a number you already own. You bring the number from a VoIP provider, paste your provider credentials into Cysora, and Cysora connects the number to your agent.

What you need

  • An account with Telnyx, Twilio or Plivo, and a voice phone number in that account.
  • Your provider credentials: an API key for Telnyx, or an Account SID and Auth Token for Twilio.

Choose your provider

Already have a number? Use the provider it is with. Starting fresh? Any of them works; pick the one you're most comfortable buying numbers from.

  • Telnyx: you need a Telnyx API key. Cysora creates a Cysora Voice application in your Telnyx account and assigns your number to it.
  • Twilio: you need your Account SID and Auth Token. Cysora sets your number's voice webhook.
  • Plivo: you need your Auth ID and Auth Token.

How it works

  1. 1

    Open the Phone tab

In the sidebar, choose Go live (shown as Channels & install once your agent is live), then the Phone tab, and select your provider.

  2. 2

    Connect

Enter your number in E.164 format, like +15551234567, and your credentials, then choose Connect. Cysora saves them encrypted and sets up call routing in your provider account.

  3. 3

    Set hours and activate

Optionally add a Transfer number (E.164) for handing calls to a person, set Language, office hours and Timezone (IANA), then choose Save & activate.

The AI answers only inside your office hours. Outside them, callers hear an after-hours message and the call ends. Without a transfer number the agent is AI-only.

Check it worked

  • The Phone tab shows your number as connected and your agent as live.
  • During office hours, call the number from another phone: your agent answers.
